This  4 Days Uganda Gorilla safari takes you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park one of the four Virunga Parks. Located in South Western Uganda, Mgahinga sits high in the clouds. Less discovered by tourists, Mgahinga offers epic gorilla trekking to tourists interested to seeing the Virunga Gorillas. There is only one habituated gorilla group in Mgahinga and therefore an early booking is necessary. On this tour you will track the mountain gorillas in Nyakagezi Group and also see the golden monkeys, two interesting primates living within the park.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Depart for Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Briefing on safari. Leave for Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in South Western Uganda. The journey takes about 8 hours. Have a stopover at the Equator for photography and Kabale for lunch. Make brief stops at places of interest including Kanaba Gap to view the dramatic Virunga volcanoes and beautiful terraced hills. Picnic lunch. Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Mgahinga
Early breakfast. Transfer to the Mgahinga National Park headquarters. Get briefed about gorilla trekking. Go gorilla tracking in Mgahinga (subject to permit availability at the time of booking). After the gorilla trek, return to the lodge for lunch. Explore the Kisoro Area in the afternoon. Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking
Transfer to the park headquarters. Go for golden monkey tracking in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The hike takes you to the bamboo zone where the golden monkeys live within the park. Upon finding the golden monkeys, you have a full hour to see these primates in their natural environment. At the end of the hour, descend to the park headquarters.  Have Lunch and in the afternoon, visit the Batwa community in the neighboring area. Day 4: Return to Kampala
After breakfast, travel back to Kampala with a stop over in Mbarara for Lunch. Arrive in the evening.
