Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will be met by our guide in the morning. Travel to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze, Northern Rwanda, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. The drive to the park takes about 3 hours. The journey is interesting and rewarding as you trail through the northern slopes of Rwanda. In the afternoon, take a nature walk to Dian Fossey Museum. Retire at the lodge as you await for the next day gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight at Muhabura Hotel (Budget) / Da Vinci Lodge or Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Midrange) / Five Volcanoes or Mount Gorilla View Lodge (luxury)
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking adventure and cultural walk
This is the day for the memorable gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park. Early in the morning, equipped with your tracking gear, you will be driven to the park headquarters at Kinigi. Assemble at the park headquarters and get briefed about the dos and don’ts while you are with the gorillas.You will be allocated to the gorilla family you are to track and the guide will transfer you to the tracking point.
Embark on the adventure of tracking the gorillas, which may take 2-7 hours depending on the movement of the amazing apes. Stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour, where you may take photography and ask questions. Descend to the point where you will be met by your guide, who will take you back to the lodge. Have Lunch. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk or nature walk. Dinner and overnight stay (Day 1).
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and City tour
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali. If time allows, visit the genocide memorial museum, where over 25000 bodies of people who died as a result of the genocide that led to death of over 900000 people especially the Tutsis. After lunch, you will visit the national museum and later the first house in Kigali. If your flight is on schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for departure.
